Hi Chris.
The band seem to play and perform better live now than they ever did.
Q. Are there many after show bustups over mistakes when playing a show!!
Q. Do you still enjoy playing the classics such as One Step Beyond, Our House etc??

I love to hear them, and in the last few years my enjoyment has been enhanced by all the new tracks…may there be many more for many years to come..
All the very best.
Jim

Dear Post gig analysis is not really on these days. It does happen but I try to stamp it out. Or in my case I shut up.. The old tracks can get a bit boring but the set list at the moment is really good, lots of newer stuff in to keep me on my toes..

    Well said Mr Smash,
you were on top form at Paris, the camaraderie between you all and us the audience was fantastic !! It was truly a night that I will remember with a big grin on my face for a very long time …and thanks for your facebook comments later that evening x

I then saw you in Amsterdam the next night so had the best weekend ever with my Maddie mates and Madness.

Thanks again CB for the dedication to me during your ‘showtime’ bit, cheeky sod, it’s not as if you could even see my lady lumps !! lol

After each show most of the band generally discuss the songs that work or maybe don’t go down that well in the territory, we take the set seriously and are always trying to get it 100% solid. With such a lot of choice its interesting introducing some of the new material and even the odd oldie. At the moment we are still playing Take it or Leave it which we reintroduced to the set at Glasto in 2009 and it seems to be going down well every where…I think the fact that we talk over the set each night and take so much care is a large factor in the improvement of the performance over the years.
I enjoy playing live the most, in fact its what Madness is all about for me, the relationship between us and the audience and the effect of the music on everyone in the moment…
    be well
