Bazooka Joe packed the Town Hall with Teddy Boys in the 70s. My boss at the time, Jim Dawes of Victoria Wine, England’s Lane, talked about his adventures as a Ted, fighting Irish Guards in Camden Town, his Ford Zephyr and Vincent Black Shadow and ton-ups doing the Pearley Way. I’m looking into this period but can’t trace Jim (he’d be about 70). Are there any of the original Teds of 50s Camden in existence?

I live in Brighton now, I have done for four years,so I don’t really know. There are a few really old geezers down here that were probably Teds but they still look really scary. Do you want me to ask them, maybe they are exiles from Camden too?
