Dont wanna blow your trumpet here by i genuinely think you are one of the most underated songwriters in the last 30 years. Eveyone always goes on about weller u2 led zepplin and queen being the best but none of them come even close to writing interesting songs like yourself and your other bandmates for that matter. Listening to the re issues of the albums (7 prob my fav) only the beatles and blur are in the same league for delivering class albums more than once. Do you think you get the credit you deserve !!?? Hard one to answer without sounding big headed i know !!

I think we have had good reviews mainly for sort of the last 30 years so no complaints there. However, I do think we sometimes get looked on as a bit of a lightwieght comedy band. I think Thommo’s lyrics can be up there with the best of them. Some of his lines like “looking at my posessions wondering which ones I own” is pure class. Suggs, Chas and Mike have also written some very good lyrics over the past 30 years.
