Dear Chris, I may not be the biggest fan the band has ever had, or the most devoted, but I can say this, I always took your craft seriously, and one or two of your lps are the finest ever recorded by a British band. I have two questions. First, if I had to twist your arm to say what your favourite Madness song is, but not one of the singles, what would it be? Second, I have just quit smoking again. Do you have any tips?

One of my favourite songs is “Give me a Reason”. Hard subject matter but a great song. I liked the solo I did too. Smoking is hard to quit, I gave up 8 years ago. It must be a bit easier now, back then everyone smoked everywhere, in pubs and so on. Keep it up if you can. You will save loads of money as well.
