Yeah just to add to whats been said above. I caught The Beat at a club in Newcastle a few weeks ago and there was only Roger and Everett from the originals. I caught The Beat first time round in 1980 and they were real good. Obviously with only 2 founder members you can’t expect the same but at the risk of upsetting Suggs Dave Wakeling was also one hell of a singer in my opinion and no mean guitarist either!!
hey Chris, The Beat tends to be Roger and his son and occasionally Everett. Dave (Wakeling) is in USA but bringing The English Beat on a rare uk trip next April to the Clapham Grand for the return of The UK Ska festival. Rumour is Jennie (Bellestar) and Rhoda may be up on the stage with him!!
