This has got to be the Hatfield Poly on the Two Tone tour. A load of thugs broke into the venue and slashed people randomly, saying they were the Anti Nazi league, which was just bull*hit really, they were cowardly thugs. This occured while the Selecter were onstage and the Specials were at their hotel so we saw the worst of it. I wasn’t scared to go on but what I saw made me not want to play. Chalky and Toks talked me round…bad times. Although now I come to think of it, we played the Factory right in the beginning it was in Hulme Manchester a lovely place ha ha. the Prince had just come out and the local Mancs had already seen off Dexys the week before and we thought Dexys were right hard nuts. Happily they liked us, so we escaped unscathed..
