I am a big Madness fan, your songs always make me happy. 🙂
Anywho, I am considering a ‘career’ in music, and I have written a few lyrics, the only thing is I look at them the next day and think they’re rubbish! I was wondering if you and the others get this? Coz Im never going to get anwhere this way!
Also, what is your favourite Madness song? and who was your insperation for being in a band?

Dear Pru
Lyrics are hard to write, which I why I rarely write them. We have got Thommo, Suggs, Chas and Mike, who all write really good lyrics. In fact Woody has just written a new song with lyrics as well. So I concentrate on the music. I do have some ideas or themes which I relay to Suggs and Thommo. I don’t know if they ever apply them to songs, though. I would say to you, keep it up it’s not a bad thing to do anyway. Trying to find someone who can write music for your lyrics is the next step. My favourite Madness song too hard to say really I always like hearing “The Prince”. My inspiration? I had none I just bought a cheap guitar and the next thing I knew we were in a band..That was about 3 years later, by the way.
