Hi Chris,
I was at the Glasgow gig last night with my wife…. brilliant gig! The band seemed to have enjoyed it as much as the crowd.
Our photo came up 3 times during “it must be love” much to my wifes surprise as she knew nothing about it! Massive thanks for that, made the gig even more special!
Promised our kids they might get to go to a matinee show next year.
New tracks sounded great, look forward to hearing more of the new stuff.
How are you guys coping with travelling in this cr*p weather for the start of the tour?
Cheers
Dave
Dear Dave
Thanks glad you liked it. Don’t get me started on the weather. Oh – OK then. Yesterday we had the choice of driving or getting a train from Manchester to Sheffield. I chose the train along with Thommo, Bushers and the Monkeys. There were no direct trains to Sheffield, so we got a train to Leeds and changed. In Leeds we sat on the train for 20 minutes, waiting for one of the crew, who had decided to drive to work. Got to Sheffield, walked up to the hotel from the station. Left the hotel for the venue met some people at the hotel who had come 80 miles to see the show. Got to the venue met a bloke who had spent 2 hours getting to the venue from a few miles away. We discussed blowing out the gig. I didn’t want to, for the sake of the people that might make it there. We were thinking of going ahead and refunding those who couldn’t make it, which was not logically possible. So we blew the gig and I thought hmmm… I was going home on Thursday – so why not go home now? Wrong move. Barso, Thommo and I dashed to the station but there were no direct trains to London, we had to go to Derby. Spent an hour in the lovely Derby waiting rooms for the London train. All the way to London I was looking up trains to Brighton and it all looked good. I ran into Victoria and got a ticket, then I found out all trains were suspended. Dammit. Rang a driver I know to see if he could run me to Brighton, he was not around so I decided to get a cab all the way to Brighton – £200! We left and my driver friend sent a text saying the trains were back on. So I went to Clapton, ran in the station the boards all indicated that there were trains to Brighton. So I paid the cab what I owed him so far and went in. But that’s not all. Of course there were no trains to Brighton – only Croydon. I called my driver mate and he told me to ring Station Cars Purley 0208 660 6000, I should give them a plug after what happened next. I met the driver Abdul [top man] at Croydon and we set slowly off. What a journey. It was very, very slow. Twice we came across a whole line of cars stopped in the snow. Snow ploughs went past we waited on each occasion for at least 30 minutes. We eventually got to Brighton at 4am and I walked last half mile home ZZzzzz.I don’t know how I’m gong to get to Hull tomorrow though.
