I think I have been stereotyped. Everything I come up with on a piano or bass, people tell me I sound like Madness even though I came up with it myself.
I was wondering if you think so:



For the third one I’d recommend started it a minute in as the first half is me trying to get it right.

I will say that I did get inspired by elements from certain songs – on the last one the same chords are used in ‘House of Fun,’ and the lower notes are similar to ‘Missing You.’ Not the same though as I don’t know the exact notes to ‘Missing You.’

What genre would you classify it as? Do you agree and it actually sounds like Madness or would you say I have distinct style? I do have to get away from the D major chord though, I use it too much. I’ve been playing piano for four months and drums/bass for years.

I liked them. You have to start off somewhere. They don’t sound totally Madnessy. Get some lyrics together, or get a singer. Above all, keep at it.
