Hi Chris
When the government is spending millions on finding out what makes us happy as a nation, to me it is obvious and I give them the answer for free……Madness. As simples as that. On a rainy day in February with no Christmas enjoyment to look forward to just bills bills bills from the Christmas over spend, the ray of light was a rescheduled Madness concert.
At the beginning of the day the prospect of no Paul Heaton playing in Hull and the weather men warning of heavy rain, things looked grim.
Later that evening on stage walk a group of 4 young kids who at first looked like they had no idea what they were doing with their instruments, with a few jeers and comments from the audience things looked like it could turn into Bill Bailey at the Albert Hall. But within minutes they put the crowd in their place and belted out some awesome songs. With a sound of Arctic Monkeys meet The Clash I could also hear a influence of The Specials and Madness in there, The Janice Graham Band will be a band to keep a eye on. My question is who found them as they deserve some recognition for their good choice.
Later I found out that they are unsigned, surly they will be snapped up soon, any room on a Madness label?
Then to cap the night off we have Madness, could it be any better ?
Walking back out into the rain there was a spring in my step that was not there a few hours earlier.
So getting back to my point at the begging, surly Madness would be a ideal candidates for a Happiness Ministers to cheer the nation up.
Keep on keeping on and look forward to some big news soon.
All The Best
Phil
