The Story of Madness

Hi Chris

I have just finished reading House of Fun: The Story of Madness by John Reed. I found it quite good, although I did find that it went off at a tangent in some places. Just wondered if you have read it and if so what your thoughts were, did you find it accurate?

Also, while I’m here, just wondered if you and the guys would consider coming back for another gig at Broadlands, Romsey…perhaps after the next album????? Pretty please?

Thanks
Mandy

Dear Mandy

I got asked this already, so here’s one I wrote earlier;

“I have not read the book but I have heard tell it claims my Dad was a postman, which is news to me. Also that Barso’s name is Mike Barson-Wilson. Slack bit of reasearch there. the book is not band approved but probably more or less well researched, he spoke to a lot of people. Some of the band have attempted reading it but I don’t know if any of them have finished it. My stance is; I am not really interested in reading a book about Madness any more than going to see a Madness tribute band [unless it’s Los Palmas 6 – I am a big Steve Turner fan]. I’ve spent enough of my life with the band never mind reading about them”.
I’m glad you enjoyed it though, thanks CB

    Will do Looby, thanks. Just wondering what the guys thoughts were on its accuracy. Does anyone know if there is ever going to be an official Biography or whether any of the band are going to pen their own?
