Yes but I haven’t seen Steve Strange for a few years. I spent most of the 80’s in the Camden Palace which was just down the road from me, or the WAG club. What’s a futurist? The Human League? I did a meet and greet with Phil Oakey you know. The thing was it all seemed like different cultures and tribes to the outside but in the BBC bar all men were [mostly] equal. We all got into being in bands for the same things more or less. Er that is: to make music that is culturally uplifting and often has a political or social message hidden beneath it’s seemingly meaningless lyrics. Oh and to get drunk, take drugs and pull birds…
