Hi Chris,
Just thought id show you my latest addition to my keyboard setup.
It really is a stunning piece of kit!!!
Do you reckon Barzo could do with one of these? :o)
Seriously though,my question is,how come you & Mike hardly write songs together? Youve both written loads of brilliant tunes over the years, its just surprising you havent done more together.
All the best,
Lee.
Dear Lee
That keyboard is something else. Amazing you got all that out of it! Mike writes music and so do I. There is a debate sometimes over “Bed and Breakfast Man”, where I wrote most of the lyrics [well – up to the “I’ve heard he’s changed a lot since then” bit onwards] and Mike always says he wrote them all. Ah well… Ce’st La Vie. That’s the closest we’ve got Except for the Chorus of “House of Fun”, which is another story…

Hi Chris,
Many thanks for posting my video & replying to my question.
Ive been a lifelong fan(41 years young!)& it is fantastic to finally make contact with you :o)
I tell ya it was really difficult playing The Sun & The Rain on that keyboard. Tiny keys & my fat fingers dont go well together!! Also at the end when the chorus changes key, when I played the chords Dminor & Fmajor, there are some very bad harmonics that surfaced. Still,it is only a toy.
Regarding the chorus of House Of Fun,I thought it was a whole band effort? Then there was Baggy Trousers which I remember reading that you said Mike shouldnt have been on the credits. Didnt you & Mike also write In The City, along with Suggs,Crutchfield & Inoue?
Anyway, just wanted to say that youve written some cracking songs which have ended up as B sides, but in my opinion they are easily as good as or better than the A sides!.
Ive just worked out & covered Shadow On The House, which I really love, which you wrote the words & music to. It has got a really superb piano part & I just wonder if you wrote that or did Mike take the basic chords & add his own bits to it?. Same with the brilliant song,Memories?.
So many questions!!!! Ah well, would be great if you could answer these.
Cheers Chris,
All the best,
Lee.
