Seven men logo and mid-era tracks

Hello Chris

Rather than bombard you with two emails, I thought I’d try and squeeze two questions into one…

Firstly, on some of the late 90s Madness releases (the ‘greatest hits’ dvd, one of the compilations I think and also on the website at the time) there’s a little logo/motif of the outline of seven fellows – yet the four in the middle are bolder than the rest. Is this in reference to anything? The only thing I can think of that divides the mad boys into four and three is when it became ‘The Madness’ for a bit…any link?

Secondly, I’ve enjoyed your live shows immensely over the years, particularly Madstock V and recently at the Southbank but I’ve noticed a conspicuous lack of tracks from the mid 80s…I know these tracks aren’t as well known as ‘trousers’ or ‘lovestruck’ but surely, at a show with a large amount of fans present, the odd ‘Uncle Sam’ or ‘Ghost Train’ would raise the roof? Great tracks, made for dancing. How come no? Or indeed, any plans?

Anyway thanks for all the music. Sorry for the long email, I’m a bit of an anorak

Jamie

Dear Jamie
There was no subtle reference in the art work.I would like to do those songs myself. Maybe at Butlins..
