Hello Shann – I love Shazza to bits. She sent a small cake to me the other day – via Bushers. Lovely.. The guitar well, it’s a bit of a sad story. I bought it for £13 in 1977 or something like that and I already had another one which cost £23. So I was a right Mark Knopfler already. My beloved first wife Susan [who is in Take it Or Leave it] wound me up one day and hung one of them out of the window when I was downstairs. so I went up and smashed it to bits along with a lovely chair I found on a skip. Pete Townshend style. I then got a mate to help me use the best bits from the smashed guitar [the pick ups] onto the one that’s in the film. So it was my main guitar till I got a really good one, then I gave it to an old school friend and I don’t know what happened to it after that. A long time later, I contacted him on friends re united and he didn’t know where it was. Mind you, we are talking about 25 years later…I made the Invaders case too..sob sob..
